Well, anyone who hangs out with Nick and likes movies knows that he got a new stereo receiver (EBAY FTW!)
I got a new receiver too, and took the opportunity to have some fun with my OLD receiver. I've been busy building a "retro" system from the ground up with old parts and stereo equipment- So far I like what has happened. I'm trying to keep it generally 80s.
1987 STA-460 Realistic am/fm tuner-phono/turntable-CD-TV-Tape Deck inputs, Teac P-595 Turntable for vinal albums/records that goes into my 3000 series 10 band stereo equalizer and a subsonic filter is inline from the TT to the EQ, Teac Double Cassette Tape Player, and so far I'm using a Toshiba DVD player as my CD deck (but I'm trying to find a 84 Marantz CD-150 to replace my old 150 that died last week) I found a new 86 Marantz that was the last model they made with the full green digital read out.
Using two Cerwin Vega AT-10 rebuilts that I rebuilt myself. Nearly Everything in this system i've had to take apart myself and fix something or clean something.
Ask Nick or Jack- I can wake my neighbors.
IF ANYONE HAS a Marantz or Teac CD player in their possession from the 80s and you don't want it let me know.
