Giving money towars LAG

I had discussed with some other members before and have mentioned this before to Gow about setting up a way to contribute money to running the LAG servers, etc. As far as I know, Gow is the one that has been forking up the money for all this time and I feel like we should help out. It's only the right thing to do!

Can I get some feedback on this please?

Ok then, since i'm a poor person now, if you guys wanna do this we can. We will need someone to hold the cash. Doesn't matter who as long as you don't spend it. Brit could do it since she has been more active in this than I have. I try to visit this site as much as possible and talk to everyone, but things have just been really crazy and very terrible for me lately, so I haven't had much time to talk to anyone. I seen my roomies this morning for the first time in almost 2 weeks.

As far as godaddy goes if we want to go with the same plan we had before it's 70 bucks for a year of hosting, so I guess that would be the goal. Unless you guys wanna go with a different host or l can also check godaddy for cheaper plans. So even if 7 people donate 10 bucks we will be rockin. I'll put as much money aside as I can.

I have EVERYTHING backed up. So we are good to go on that end. And of course we can dish out ftp accounts to everyone who donates. So you will all be free to host files and websites.

Also free email address forwarding for everyone, which can be forwarded to your normal account. Like for example I had [e-mail] and [e-mail]. so when someone sent me an email to those addresses it would send it to my gmail account.

That also means we can ditch thegow.net and just have louisianaanime.com as the main address.

I had heard from Tyler that you had been having a rough time and even before all of this Kat had originally suggested for us to pitch in money, which I thought was a great idea. You've kept the site free and ad-free for us which is great and if we want to keep it that way and get things running again, then I feel we should donate.

I was thinking about maybe setting up a paypal business account so that people can just donate that way. But no one has been posting except for me and you. I am going to send out a mass email probably today as a reminder of people who have signed up.

Also when we get old LAG back up and running, I'd like to have a donate to paypal button up and going if that's the way we end up doing it.

Also, a mass email to all of hte members of LAG, even the ones that don't post anymore (whether or not we like them either) should be sent to try and get more people to start posting again.

Unfortunately, when a site goes dead for as long as it has, that is how you will lose members and readers quickly. It works that way with blogs, especially, and quite assumably the same with forums, so people that want to see LAG back up to speed like it was before, have to work hard to do it.

I know I don't know much about coding, but if you wanna spend an afternoon or something with me and kinda show me some basic stuff, so maybe like me and John could help you get LAG back up running faster, that'd be great. It'd give you time to deal with your personal life and someone take care of LAG for you. Plus it'd get up faster and that's always a good thing!

Anyway, I just really miss LAG and want to help the best I can to get it back up and running.

I don't know how I could right now. I'm lucky if I have enough to buy my medication on time. I have to wait about a month to get a refund on my textbooks for the fall semester, which means I gotta take out a loan already. My parents are even losing their house, which was built to be mine someday. And to top it all off, my dental insurance expires in two-three months and I have about $800 bucks of work to be done...(after insurance.)

Put simply: I love the idea of a return of the LAG, but I can't squeeze blood from a turnip. Hopefully things will change for the better soon enough, and at that point I'll take another look at what I can offer.

However if you're accepting broken dreams and unmet expectations, I have quite a surplus!

That's ok. That's why it's a donation. And it's not like we're asking for tons of money either. It can be even just a dollar, but it's understandable if people can't donate right now. I'm going to have to wait for my next paycheck before I decide how much to set aside. :P

Okay, well I'm working on figuring out how it all works and stuff. And how I'll be able to put it on here... And also figure out how much our goal should be. Gow, can you link me to the pricing and stuff for domain name and server prices?
